About Me: I’m of the impression that life’s best spent doing stuff we love, watching the sun rise and set in the same day, inviting our best friends to share in our stupidity, going to places most people only see on a postcard, and getting comfortable being uncomfortable. I’ve lived in Florida all my life, have taken a few surf trips to four different countries, climbed in four different states, ran 13.1 miles in under two hours, and rode my bike 50 miles in about three hours and 100 miles in about six hours for fun.
My name’s Justin Fricke (nice to “meet” you), I am a writer, photographer, videographer and most of my work centers around going places and doing things most people only dream of doing. I’m a contributing writer at Sierra Trading Post and Eagle Creek, among others. You can find that work here.
Partnerships: I like working with companies whose missions and values are in tune with mine. If you’re interested in working with me, I’d love to have a conversation with you and I can be reached at justin[at]thefrickes[dot]com.
About The Weekend Warrior: Scour the Internet all you want and you’re not going to find me featured in a dope climbing film, or surf film, and I’ll likely never win a race of any kind. We’re probably a lot alike. I like to surf and I’ll over exaggerate wave heights. I run to justify eating a plate full of hot wings washed down by a cold IPA at the end of the day. I like to ride my bike fast and pretend I’m a professional cyclist without the dope. Sometimes I’ll hit a jump on my mountain bike, but only if it’s close to the ground. I like rock climbing, but I can’t control my Elvis Leg when I get nervous on a run out or the crux move. And I’d give anything to get out there and have fun all the time. The Weekend Warrior’s the motivation for us common folk to get out there and do rad stuff, all for the sake of fun.
